Suspects: Victor Nieto-Mendoza (22, Novato) and Haylee Dolan (24, Fairfax)
Charges: Multiple Firearms Violations including Possession of a Loaded Firearm and Possession of Controlled Substances for Sale
On Friday, June 9, 2023, at approximately 1:30 am, an officer with the Petaluma Police Department observed a vehicle committing multiple vehicle code violations. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and it yielded in the area of Payran Street and East Madison Street. Officers contacted vehicle occupants and identified them respectively, as driver Haylee Dolan and passenger Victor Nieto-Mendoza. Records check revealed Dolan was on active Marin County Probation with a Fourth Amendment waiver.
Based on Dolan’s probation status and other information learned at the scene, officers conducted a search of the vehicle and persons in the vehicle. During the search, Dolan was found to be in possession of controlled substances on her person. Nieto-Mendoza was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun on his person. A search of the vehicle yielded additional controlled substances and ammunition for the firearm.
Dolan and Nieto-Mendoza were both arrested on suspicion of multiple violations. Nieto-Mendoza’s charges included felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded concealed firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and possession of a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm. Dolan’s charges included felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled, and possession of a controlled substance. Nieto-Mendoza and Dolan were both transported to and booked at the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility.
