Location: North McDowell Boulevard at Candlewood Drive, Petaluma
On June 4, 2023, at approximately 9:16 am, Petaluma Police Department officers were dispatched to a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The vehicle was driving southbound on N. McDowell Boulevard attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Candlewood Drive. The vehicle collided with a pedestrian who appeared to have stepped off the sidewalk curb as she crossed Candlewood Drive, walking northbound. Petaluma Police officers as well as Petaluma Fire Department Paramedics arrived within minutes. Upon arrival, the pedestrian was down on the roadway with what appeared to be significant injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation. Petaluma Fire Department personnel transported the pedestrian to an area trauma center, where she remains in critical condition. At this point in the investigation, drugs and/ or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision.
Currently, the identity of the pedestrian is not being released. The collision is still under investigation to determine the cause. If anyone witnessed this collision, can provide evidence such as video, or any other relevant information, please contact Traffic Officer N. Camilleri at 707-778-4335.

On June 4, 2023, at approximately 9:16 am, Petaluma Police Department officers were dispatched to a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The vehicle was driving southbound on N.
