Narrative:
On 06/10/2023, Camarillo Patrol units responded to St John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital reference an adult male victim that had sustained lacerations to his neck. When deputies contacted the victim, they learned he was at his residence in the 200 Block of Nellora Street in the City of Camarillo when he was attacked by Grant Rhodes. The attack on the victim was unprovoked and Rhodes cut the victim’s neck multiple times with a boxcutter. The victim received several stitches to his neck as a result of the wounds suffered in the attack. Detectives with the Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit and Ventura County Major Crimes Bureau responded to assist in the investigation.
 
Attempts to locate Rhodes on 06/10/2023 were unsuccessful. On 06/11/2023, Rhodes contacted detectives and requested to meet at the Camarillo Police Station. Detectives responded to the station and took Rhodes into custody for a violation of California Penal Code section 664/187 – Attempted Murder. A search warrant was conducted at Rhodes’ residence in the 1000 Block of Marco Drive in the City of Camarillo. During the warrant service, evidence pertaining to the crime was located.
 
Rhodes was booked into custody at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility awaiting court proceedings with a set bail of $1,045,000.00.
