Circumstance: Narcotics Arrest

Location: 100 Seagle Street (Marion)
On Friday 5/19/2023 Officers with the Marion Police Department responded to 100 Seagle Street (Marion) due to information being received, that Marcus Pendley was currently at that location. Officers were attempting to locate Pendley, due to him having active warrants for his arrest, for failing to appear for court.
Pendley was located in a separate structure on the property, and placed under arrest without incident. While being searched, a pistol was found in Pendley’s waistband along with $2,860 in US Currency. There was a bag found with Pendley that contained other narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia, which has been submitted to the North Carolina State Crime Lab for analysis.
Sgt. Matt Huggins arrested and charged Pendley with the following:
1 count- Trafficking in Amphetamine
1 count- Trafficking in Opium or Heroin
1 count- Possession of Methamphetamine
1 count- Felony Possession of Sch II CS
1 count- Possession of Stolen Firearm
1 count- Possession of Firearm by Felon
1 count- Simple Possession of Sch III CS
1 count- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Pendley was placed in the custody of the McDowell County Jail under a $230,000 bond.
