DETAILS:  Patrol Units responded to Marshalls for a shoplifting in progress. As officers arrived, they observed the two shoplifters, Edwin Cruz and Kenneth Dunston, using a large U-Haul truck.  Investigation found that Dunston had loaded a cart full of handbags and covered them with women’s clothing, while Cruz was outside acting as a look-out. The 2024 model year U-Haul truck (valued at $120,000) they were using was determined to be stolen from Trenton. Dunston had four (4) warrants for his arrest from Trenton, and one from Ewing. Cruz had a warrant for his arrest from West Windsor and one from Trenton. Cruz and Dunston were processed at WWPD Headquarters and committed to the Mercer County Corrections Center.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to the GAP store located in the MarketFair mall for four females who were actively shoplifting. Prior to police arrival, the shoplifters had left the store. One of the four shoplifters, Ijanae Conway was located by Ptl. J. Cherko. Conway participated in the shoplifting by stuffing hundreds of dollars worth of children’s clothing into a bag being carried by another shoplifter who left the store without paying. Conway was identified by GAP staff as having been involved in another shoplifting on 4/21/23, Case #2023-12332, during which Conway stole $975.00 worth of baby clothing. Sgt. L. Brodowski charged Conway with Shoplifting for the aforementioned incident. Conway was also found to have warrants for her arrest from West Windsor and Lawrence Township. Conway was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending future Court dates in West Windsor and Lawrence.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Fiore was detailed to a shoplifting that had just occurred at TJ Maxx. The two shoplifters left in a black Jeep Grand Cherokee. Investigation positively identified the registered owner of the Jeep, Zoraya Paulino-Aracena as one of the shoplifters. Paulino-Aracena and another female had selected $679.89 worth of merchandise, put the items into a shopping cart, and walked out without paying. They loaded up the black Jeep that was being driven by a male who was waiting outside. Paulino-Aracena was charged with Shoplifting and has a Court date pending.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to Marshalls for a shoplifting in progress. Prior to police arrival, the shoplifter had left in an older red Jeep Grand Cherokee going south on U.S. Route 1. Ptl. C. Van Ness observed a vehicle matching that description that was stopped in traffic at a red light on Franklin Corner Road in Lawrence. He pulled up behind the Jeep from the shoulder to get the license plate number, then pulled up alongside it to see if any of the occupants matched the description of the suspect. While he looked inside, the driver of the Jeep took notice of the police car. The driver squeezed through a narrow gap between the car in front of it and the police car next to it, and rapidly accelerated down the shoulder and into the intersection where it narrowly missed hitting vehicles crossing the intersection. Investigation found that Arthur Rogers had filled a shopping cart with merchandise and pushed it out of the store without paying. He then got into the red Jeep and drove away. The Jeep was later located at the apartment complex where the registered owner lived and was impounded for investigation. Rogers was charged with Shoplifting in West Windsor and Eluding along with several motor vehicle offenses in Lawrence Township.

DETAILS:  Patrol Officers responded to Wegmans for a shoplifter who was being detained by store Asset Protection. Investigation found that Gracelyn Owusu Yeboah had selected several bottles of alcoholic beverages and other items, and concealed them into reusable shopping bags that were in her shopping cart. She then left the store without paying for the items valued at $257.73. She was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future Court date.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units responded to New Village Rd. for a driver who was asleep in a gray Honda sedan with the vehicle in “Drive” and his foot on the brake. Prior to police arrival, Dylan Goll, hit the rear of the vehicle stopped in front of it at a red light, two different times. Goll was determined to be DWI and had open containers of alcoholic beverages in his car. He was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending future dates with West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS: While on patrol, Ptl. Connell observed a white Dodge van go through a red light at the intersection of U.S. Route 1 and Harrison St. After catching up to the van, he further observed it cross over lane markings on the highway. Ptl. Connell stopped the van, and during the investigation, Jonathan Edwards was determined to be DWI. Edwards was also found to have a warrant for his arrest from Roselle. Inside of his van was a cup containing an alcoholic beverage, and also a small gray and white cat named “October”. Since the van had to be impounded, October was brought the Princeton Animal Hospital for temporary lodging. Edwards was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending future Court dates in West Windsor and Roselle. He was reunited with his cat upon his release.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Ventura initiated a stop on a blue Nissan sedan for having a headlight that was not working. During the stop, Amira Rosario was found to be a “Wanted” fugitive out of Montgomery, PA. Rosario was processed at WWPD Headquarters and later transported to the Mercer County Corrections Center pending an Extradition Hearing.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units responded to a single car crash into a tree on U.S. Route 1. When officers arrived, Lei Yan was still inside his heavily damaged BMW X6. A witness observed the BMW swerving in and out of its lane before to the car left the roadway where it hit a pole, then a tree stump, and finally a tree. Yan claimed that he was using his cars “driver assistant” when it lost control. During the investigation, Yan was determined to be DWI. He was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Yan was charged with DWI and has future court dates pending with West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to a residential burglary in the Elements development. Investigation found that while the residents were away at work, a rear window and sliding glass door window were smashed. Entry was made into the home through the sliding glass door. The house was thoroughly ransacked, property was found broken inside, and items were stolen. Detective A. Robles processed the crime scene for evidence.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units and members of the Detective Bureau responded to a shoplifting in progress at Target. As Najzah Caldwell exited the store, she was apprehended with $621.90 worth of Nicorette (nicotine) chewing gum concealed in a reusable shopping bag. Joshua Collins had already left the store, but was located by Detective Sergeant J. Jones in the parking lot of TJ Maxx. Collins had dumped twelve  cameras (valued at 1,049.87) he stole into a storm drain, but the items were found by Det. Sgt. Jones and returned to Target. The red Nissan Altima the shoplifters arrived in was parked in a Handicapped Parking space in front of the store without a permit. It was impounded for the violation and for a search.
     Caldwell and Collins had also shoplifted from Target on 5/23 & 5/24. On both of those dates, Caldwell stole Nicorette gum while Collins stole cameras and equipment. Det. B. Jany charged the duo for the aforementioned shopliftings. Both were processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending future Court dates.
