INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Northwest District officers and Robbery detectives quickly apprehend three juvenile, armed robbery and carjacking suspects.
On Monday June 12, 2023, just before 2:00 a.m., IMPD Northwest district officers responded to the 900 block of W. 10th St., on the report of an armed robbery and carjacking. Officers arrived, spoke with the victim, and gathered information reference the robbery and carjacking. Within minutes, officers located the carjacked vehicle traveling in the 2500 block of W. 16th St. and conducted a traffic stop.
Officers detained three juvenile suspects, a 15-year-old male, a 17- year-old male and a 17-year-old female. A firearm was recovered and the female suspect was in possession of marijuana. Aggravated Assault detectives responded to continue the investigation.
Subsequently, all three were arrested for robbery and auto theft. The female had an additional charge for possession of narcotics. The 15-year-old male had a prior criminal charge for carrying a firearm by a prohibited person.
The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO) will review the case and make a final charging decision.
