On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, Investigators obtained arrest warrants for 31-year-old Bernard Garvin in relation to Friday night’s Hilton Head Gardens shooting incident. 

Garvin is wanted for charges of attempted murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, and pointing and presenting a firearm at a person. 

To recap, deputies were called to Hilton Head Gardens for reports of a shooting at approximately 8:46 p.m.  A woman sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to her head. 

Investigators learned that the victim tried to intervene in a dispute between Garvin and another woman.  This intervention led to Garvin discharging a firearm several times in the apartment complex-ultimately shooting the woman.  He then pointed the firearm at another person who was also present when this incident occurred.
