Council Member John Rafter - 7th Ward - has announced his resignation from the City of Oneonta Common Council effective June 14, 2023.  Council Member Rafter began his tenure with the City by serving on various boards and commissions prior to being elected to serve the residents of the 7th Ward on the Common Council in the 2015 election.  He has served as Council Member since January 1, 2016 with liaison positions to the Airport Commission and the Zoning and Housing Board of Appeals.  He has stated that he will be moving out of the Oneonta-area to be closer to family.  On behalf of the City and its residents, we thank him for his many years of dedicated and tireless service.
