INCIDENT: P.C. 25850( C)(6)- Possession of a Concealed Weapon
LOCATION: 42000 block of Falcon Rd, Newberry Springs
SUSPECT: Gustavo Alderete, 28-year-old resident of Barstow
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at approximately 1:35 p.m., Deputy J. Gonzalez was dispatched to the 42000 block of Falcon Road in Newberry Springs, in reference to an illegal entry into a dwelling.
Upon arrival, Deputy Gonzalez contacted 28-year-old Gustavo Alderete of Barstow. During the investigation, deputies learned Gustavo had arrived at the location with the intention of purchasing vacant property. It was also discovered that Gustavo was made aware of law enforcement being contacted due to him being on the property without permission. Gustavo tried to leave after learning law enforcement had been notified, but his vehicle was stuck. Gustavo took a large black case, containing unknow items, out of the vehicle and left it in the nearby desert.
The victim led the deputy to the location of the black case. Inside was a non-California compliant AR-15 rifle and a black 9mm Taurus Armas handgun, along with a large amount of ammunition, four riffle magazines, three handgun magazines, and one AR-15 drum magazine, all loaded. A small black duffle bag that contained over $17,000.00 dollars was also located. During a search of Gustavos vehicle deputies discovered of a bag containing Marijuana and over $400.00 in cash. An additional $2,400.00 dollars was found on Gustavo's person.
Gustavo Alderete was arrested and booked into High Desert Detention Center for California Penal Code 25850( C) (6)- Possession of a Concealed Loaded Firearm Not Registered and Health and Safety code 11359- Possession of Marijuana for Sale.
