LOCATION: 5300 Block of South Street, Phelan
SUSPECT: Pepi Carr, 30 years-old, resident of Phelan
Jasmine Rodriguez, 33 years-old, resident of Phelan
SUMMARY: On Sunday, June 11, 2023, at 2:29 a.m., deputies responded to a 911 call in the 5300 Block of South Street in Phelan. When deputies arrived, they located a 34-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to the pelvic area. The victim was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect left the residence before deputies arrived.
Several children were found living at the residence with their mother, Jasmine Rodriguez. The residence was found to house a marijuana grow and was in deplorable condition. The children were turned over to the custody of San Bernardino County Child and Family Services, and Rodriguez was arrested for cruelty to a child. She was booked at High Desert Detention Center.
Through the investigation, deputies identified the suspect as Pepi Carr. Deputy J. Guzman located Carr near Palmdale Road and Windermere Road in Phelan. A shotgun and ammunition were also located. Pepi Carr was arrested for attempted murder and booked at the High Desert Detention Center.
