* At 245 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Oronogo to 6 miles north of Pierce City to 9 miles east of Purdy, moving northeast at 45 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. These storms have a long history of producing wind damage. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Other locations impacted by these severe thunderstorms include Stockton Lake, Table Rock Lake, Prairie State Park, Shell Knob, Airport Drive, Nashville, Brookline, Carytown, Fidelity and Dadeville. This includes the following highways... Interstate 44 between mile markers 7 and 90. Interstate 49 between mile markers 32 and 76.

Instructions:
Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside should move immediately to shelter inside a strong building. Stay away from windows. If on or near Stockton Lake, get away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
