INCIDENT: Possession of Controlled Substances for Sale, Driving Under the Influence - Collision
LOCATION: Sunnyside Drive & Fir Avenue, Yucaipa
SUSPECT: Javan Piikea Wong, 43-year-old resident of Yucaipa
SUMMARY: On Sunday, June 18, 2023, at about 8:54 p.m., a 2006 Mercedes ML350 drove across Sunnyside Avenue, over the sidewalk, and collided with a home’s block retaining wall. The driver, Javan Wong, was disoriented and off balance. Deputies and Cal-Fire responded, and discovered Wong was under the influence of a controlled substance.
Suspected fentanyl, psychedelic mushrooms, wax, marijuana, and other unknown substances were found in Wong’s possession. The quantities and paraphernalia led deputies to believe the controlled substances were possessed for sales. Wong was arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center.
