Storm Debris Recovery Update (06-20-23, 9:50 a.m.)

We have received our collection and burn site permit from the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ). We will begin vegetative debris collection (tree limbs and stumps) at the dump site starting today. Residents are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to dispose of tree limbs and stumps for free.

Hours of Operation: The collection site will also be open today through Sunday, July 2, 2023. The hours of operation will be 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. during the week, and 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. When hauling to the collection site, please make sure your load is secure. The collection site is open to all.

Location: The collection site is located east of the Cimarron Correctional Facility on Texaco Road. At the end of the road, turn left into the dump site. A map is included with this post.

There will be an attendant onsite but not available to help remove debris from vehicles, trailers, etc. The attendant will account for the debris and location of origin. Again, the collection site is open to all.

Common Question:

I live outside the city limits so can I dump at the collection site? Absolutely.

We are still developing a plan to collect vegetative debris (tree limbs, stumps) from the curbside. Residents need to understand this will take weeks to complete because by law we must solicit competitive bids for this work. Once we have more information, we will share it. In the meantime, you can help us be efficient when the collection process starts by:

•Not placing debris near or next to a gas meter.
•Not placing debris near, next to or atop your water meter.
•Not placing debris near or next to your mailbox.
•Debris should be near roadway or curb edge (utility easement). We will not drive machinery into yards beyond the easement to collect debris.
•Ensure that your trash cart will still be accessible to Republic at the curb or roadside.
•Do not place anything at the curb or roadside other than broken tree limbs or stumps. Please, no exceptions.
•Bagged limbs, leaves, or other rubbish will not be collected at the roadside or collection site.
•Tree limbs need to be cut into 6' sections if possible.
•Do not place debris in the street.

We are still collaborating with our partner Republic Services to establish a construction material (shingles, wooden panel fences, metal) dumpsite. When we know more, we will share it.
