Simi Valley, Calif. – On June 16, 2023 One individual was arrested for DUI, Thirteen drivers were cited for driving without a license, and one driver was cited for driving with a suspended license at a DUI checkpoint on Friday, June 16, 2023.
The DUI checkpoint was held on Madera Road at Woodranch Parkway from 7:00 p.m. to time 1:00 a.m.
Fourteen drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, 994 vehicles were contacted.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
The next DUI checkpoint will be held in August 2023.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
