INCIDENT: P.C. 368(D)(1) - Elder Abuse, P.C. 664/451.5(D) - Attempted Arson, and P.C. 422- Criminal Threats
LOCATION: 200 block of Walnut Street, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Alexander Perry, 20-years-old, Resident of Needles, CA
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Saturday, June 17, 2023, at approximately 12:53 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police department responded to a call for service reference a bomb threat. Alexander Perry was found to have told several people his residence had a bomb and it was going to blow up. A search was conducted of the residence and a bomb was not located. During investigation, it was discovered that Perry poured gasoline throughout the residence and had threatened to light the house on fire. When the victim attempted to stop Perry from lighting the fire, Perry tackled the victim to the ground.
Perry was consequently arrested for P.C. 368(D)(1) - Elder Abuse, P.C. 422 - Criminal Threats and P.C. 664/451.5(D)- Attempted Arson. Perry was transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Perry remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with bail set at $80,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
