INCIDENT: PC 451.5(a) - Arson
LOCATION: 900 Block of Front Street, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Peter Celano, 58-years-old, Resident of Barstow, CA
VICTIM(S): City of Needles
SUMMARY: On Sunday, June 18, 2023, at approximately 5:30 a.m., deputies with the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department responded to a call of multiple fires being set at the El Garces/Amtrak train station, in Needles. Witnesses observed a male starting trash cans, dumpsters, and grass on fire within close proximity of the train station and occupied Amtrak platform.
Deputies located the suspect, identified as Peter Celano, near the train platform having just started additional fires. Celano was arrested for PC 451.5(a)- Arson. Celano was transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Celano remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $1,000,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
