Thousand Oaks, Calif. – On June 17, 2023, a DUI/ Driver’s License Checkpoint was held at the following locations: Avenida De Los Arboles at Calle Haya from 7:00 PM until 10:30 PM. and Moorpark Rd and Conejo Valley Plaza from 10:30 PM until 1:00 AM.
A total of 485 drivers were contacted. 10 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle with license violations and 7 other drivers were cited for miscellaneous vehicle code violations. We are happy to report there were no DUI arrests made at this checkpoint as any intoxicated persons were only passengers.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes and areas of high traffic accident occurrences. The primary purpose of a DUI checkpoint is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
