BPD is looking for two good Samaritans that assisted a victim this morning

The Berkeley Police Department is currently investigating a kidnapping that occurred today, around 2:05 am on College Ave. near Haste St. The suspect is described as an African American male in his 20’s-30’s, slim build, 5’8”-5’10”, wearing a black long sleeve top with a hood, gray pants, and bright white shoes.

Two good Samaritans assisted the victim during this incident. BPD is looking to speak with them. The good Samaritans are described as; an Asian male in his 20’s named “Adam” wearing a dark t-shirt and an Asian female in her 20’s wearing a brown leather jacket and skinny blue jeans. These individuals are asked to call BPD’s Special Victims Unit at (510) 981-5735.

Crimes like this can be very alarming for the community and victims. BPD would like to remind the community of some ways to be safe; travel in well-lit, well-traveled areas, travel with friends or in a group if possible, remain alert and aware of your surroundings while traveling to and from your destinations, and if you see something out of place or a crime occurring, report it to the police department.
