Altadena Sheriff's Station is now accepting applications for anyone interested in becoming an Explorer. Upcoming class is scheduled to start August 17, 2023.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Explorer Academy is an 18-week commitment. The Academy is held every Saturday once started. The next academy will be held at STARS Center in Whittier.
Requirements needed:
The requirements are as follows:
Teens must be 14-20 years old
Have a G.P.A. of 2.0 or higher
Have strong integrity and character
No serious criminal record/probation
Must pass drug screening
Must submit to background check
Must be able to attend Thursday evening Post meetings upon completion of Academy.

Wednesday, August 17, 2023 -Parent Orientation Night
Saturday, August 26, 2023 -Registration Day
Saturday, September 9, 2023- First day of Explorer Academy
