Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun charges.
On June 20, at approximately 4:20 p.m., members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were in the 200 block of South Harrison Street, when they attempted to make contact with 21-year-old Tyree Anderson, who fled on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, officers took Anderson into custody without incident and recovered a loaded .22 caliber handgun.
Anderson has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $26,000 cash-only bail.
