Narrative:

Ventura County Supervisor Matt LaVere will host an informational town hall on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at the Oak View Community Center for residents of Foster Park and Camp Chaffee to discuss damage and impacts from the January Storms. Representatives from Ventura County’s Public Works Agency, Fire Department, Sheriff’s Emergency Services and Human Services Agency will present on a range of topics, including the status of Coyote Creek, wildfire preparedness, emergency notifications and evacuations, and emergency sheltering.

The January storms resulted in widespread damage across Ventura County, prompting a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration, and activating various disaster assistance programs for residents, businesses and public agencies. However, some of the unincorporated areas of Ventura County were more severely impacted than others, including the Communities of Foster Park and Camp Chaffee.

The town hall meeting is open to all members of the public who wish to attend. The meeting will also stream live online at VCEmergency.com. Spanish and ASL interpretation will be available onsite for those who require assistance. If you have any other language or accessibility needs, please email [email protected] at least 72 hours prior to the start of the event.
