Railroad Crossing Closure: South St. / Sumpter Rd. / City of Belleville 
Norfolk Southern Railroad has just notified the City of Belleville that the Railroad crossing at South St. / Sumpter Rd. is now closed to traffic to make permanent repairs. Initially, plans were to start repairs on Monday June 26, 2023. The City was not informed of these changes and we are aware most crossings in the area are closed. The City has no control or input on railroad operations. The only available North/South detour may be Elwell Rd. or Rawsonville Rd. Please make and plan alternative routes.
