UPDATE: On June 21, 2023, the victim, identified as Eric Rodriguez-Yuriar, an 18-year-old resident of Colton, succumbed to his injuries sustained in a shooting on June 18, 2023. The Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail has assumed the investigation.

SUMMARY: On June 18, 2023, deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Station responded to a shooting at the intersection of Cartilla Avenue and Lemon Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga. When deputies arrived on scene, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment where he remains in critical condition.
