IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE FAIR HAVEN POLICE DEPARTMENT
 
Now that the children are out of school for the summer and they have more screen time on phones, tablets and computers, we want to send out some safety tips and reminders. We are urging parents to monitor you children’s screens.
 
Parents are reminded to explain to their children to not answer unknown phone numbers and to not accept unknown friends on social media. Parents should talk to their children about sending inappropriate pictures or video to anybody and if they receive inappropriate pictures or videos to report it to proper authority such as parents teachers or the police.
 
Please reinforce to them that sending inappropriate pictures and any forwarding of inappropriate pictures of themselves or anyone else could be construed as a possible crime.
