INCIDENT: California Vehicle Code 1144 Vehicle vs Pedestrian Crash
LOCATION: Archibald Avenue & Tryon Street, Rancho Cucamonga, California
SUSPECT(S): Driver: 70-year-old Male, Rancho Cucamonga Resident
VICTIM(S): Pedestrian: 80-year-old Female, Rancho Cucamonga Resident (Deceased)
SUMMARY: On June 24, 2023, at about 1:11 PM, deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to the area of Archibald Avenue and Tryon Street in Rancho Cucamonga for a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Personnel from the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Department also responded to the scene to render aid to an 80-year-old female pedestrian involved in the crash. The female was transported by American Medical Response to Pomona Valley Medical Center for her injuries sustained in the crash. The victim was pronounced deceased by the hospital staff at about 6:30 PM on the evening of June 24, 2023.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene of the crash, no drugs or alcohol were detected.
The cause of the crash is being investigated by the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team.
