Fire Weather Watch until 09:00PM Tuesday
The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red Flag Warning below 9000 feet for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels, which is in effect from 11 AM to 9 PM MDT Monday. A Fire Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire Weather Watch for gusty winds, low relative humidity, dry fuels, and potential for lightning ignitions is in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 295 Southwest Colorado Upper East Forecast Area below 9000 feet.
* WINDS...Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph on Monday. Southwest 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 50 mph on Tuesday.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...12 to 17 percent.
* LIGHTNING...Tuesday will also present chances for lightning with very little to no precipitation reaching the ground.
* IMPACTS...Conditions will become favorable for easy ignition and rapid spread of fires due to low relative humidity and strong gusty winds.
* AFFECTED AREAS: SOUTHWEST COLORADO UPPER EAST FORECAST AREA
