Severe Weather is Possible Monday Afternoon
South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management is issuing an advisory for significant thunderstorms Monday afternoon in and around our community. The National Weather Service has indicated that there is a heightened risk for damaging storms with high winds. Residents should secure any loose outdoor furniture and monitor the weather conditions throughout the day Monday. If you have outdoor activities Monday afternoon, you should have a plan to move to a safe location should severe weather hit our area.
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ADVISORY
Severe thunderstorms are possible across our area Monday afternoon and evening. Damaging winds, large hail, and flash flooding are possible. A squall line may be the main severe thunderstorm potential.
Hazardous Weather: Severe thunderstorms and flash flooding.
Locations affected: Eastern PA, NJ, DE, and northeastern MD.
Timing: Monday afternoon and evening; approximately 3-9 PM.
Impacts: Damaging wind gusts to 60-70 mph which will damage trees and power lines and large hail. Excessive rainfall rates could result in local flash flooding, especially in urban areas. The tornado potential is low. Storms should produce frequent cloud-to-ground lightning.
