Two Robbery Suspects Arrested for Their Involvement in a Series of Armed Robberies.

INDIANAPOLIS- Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Robbery detectives, with assistance from IMPD Northwest District officers, the FBI Violent Crime Task Force, and the IMPD Special Weapons and Tactics Team, arrested 20-year-old Antonio Haynes and 25-year-old Amari Evans for their alleged roles in a series of armed robberies and home invasion robberies.
 
On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, Robbery detectives began investigating a series of armed robberies occurring on the eastside of Indianapolis. Using various investigative techniques and modern-policing technology, detectives identified the suspect vehicle as a blue Jeep Liberty.
 
On Thursday, June 22, 2023, robbery detectives, the FBI Violent Crime Task Force and the IMPD Special Weapons and Tactics Team, located the jeep in the 5000 block of West 36th Terrace. Simultaneously, officers in the area were notified of a report of a delayed attempted robbery that took place in the 5300 block of Ruskin Place West, a nearby neighborhood.
 
Officers from the Northwest District located two males, later identified as Antonio Haynes and Amari Evans, on foot in the vicinity of the attempted robbery. Officers initiated their emergency equipment and the suspects fled. Following a brief foot pursuit, both individuals were apprehended without further incident. Additionally, a handgun was recovered.
 
The investigation continued, resulting in the arrest of Haynes and Evans for armed robbery.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case and make the final charging decision. The investigation is still ongoing.
