Victorville, Calif. – On June 23, 2023 Seven drivers were arrested at a DUI checkpoint. The DUI checkpoint was held at the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Hesperia Road, in Victorville, from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
16 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, 1,413 vehicles were contacted. After the checkpoint concluded, two additional drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
