Air Unhealthy for Sensitive People
Wildfire smoke from Quebec has moved into the area and reached the level of "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" at the monitoring site in Odanah last night. These conditions are expected to continue the next several days, a little better conditions are forecast for Wednesday morning. Early on Wednesday will be the best time to excercise or complete outdoor activities.
Heavier smoke is forecast to move into the area Wednesday evening and reach levels that are unhealthy for everyone.
Cleaner air will move in Thursday.
Youth, elders, and those with breathing conditions or diseases may feel impacts from reduced air quality at the current monitored level. Healthy adults may not feel any effects, whereas some people are more sensitive and will feel symptoms.
Sensitive groups are encouraged to avoid strenuous activities and limit their time spent outside. A HEPA-approved air filter used inside can help reduce air pollutants, especially while sleeping. Staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water can also help your body deal with the impacts of air pollution.
