Why So Many Cops at Erringer and Cochran Yesterday?

On June 26, 2023, at about 1:00 P.M., a Simi Valley Police Officer observed 25-year-old Simi Valley Resident Brittany Love, a known subject on probation, walking in the area of Erringer Road and Cochran Street. A records check revealed Brittany had a local felony warrant for violating her probation. As the officer was researching Brittany, Brittany made eye-contact with the officer and fled into the area of Holiday Inn (2550 Erringer Road).  The officer requested additional officers for assistance and drove over to the area Brittany was last seen. While searching the area he observed Brittany run to and enter an occupied parked vehicle. The driver exited the vehicle and told officers he did not know the subject, but that she did not threaten him or try to take his vehicle.

As the officers began to order Brittany out of the vehicle, she ran out of the vehicle and across the street to Vons. The officers chased after her and ultimately caught up to her in the Vons parking lot where she was taken into custody without further incident. No one was hurt as a result of the incident. Brittany was arrested for the warrant and 148(a)(1) PC – resisting, obstructing, or delaying a peace officer, and booked at the Ventura County Main Jail
