INCIDENT: Residential Burglary
LOCATION: 8000 block of Calpella Avenue, Hesperia
SUSPECT(S): Cristian Duran, 29-year-old male of Hesperia
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: Deputies with the Hesperia Police Department responded to a reported residential burglary, which occured on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, in the 8000 block of Calpella Avenue in Hesperia. Through investigation, and with the public’s help via the Neighbors by Ring application, investigators were able to identify a black Chevrolet Avalanche used during the crime.
On June 12, 2023, investigators located the Chevrolet and contacted its driver, Cristian Duran. Inside of the Chevrolet was stolen property from the burglary, as well as suspected methamphetamine and a loaded firearm. Further investigation revealed that Duran owned the Chevrolet at the time of the burglary.
Duran, a convicted felon, was subsequently arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for PC459, Burglary, PC496, Possession of Stolen Property, PC29800(a)(1), Felon in Possession of a Firearm, HS11370.1, Possession of Controlled Substance While Armed, and HS11378, Possession of Methamphetamine for Sale.
