Overnight Burglary and Motor Vehicle Theft - Residents Warned of Increasing Criminal Trend 
Today on June 28th, 2023 at approximately 6:50 AM, Cranford Police responded to the 500 Block of Lexington Avenue on a report of a motor vehicle theft. It was determined that the victim's home was entered through a rear window and the suspect removed the victim's car keys to steal their Mercedes Benz.
Today, it was learned that this victim's vehicle may have been used in the commission of other crimes throughout northern New Jersey, and was even seen in New York City.
Residents are warned that there has been an increase in residential burglaries in which the suspects are looking for the keys to high end vehicles.
