Summer recreation opportunities announced
New skills & drills indoor basketball clinics announced
The Hoboken Recreation Division is pleased to announce new 90-minute coach-guided basketball clinics this summer for Hoboken youth in third through eighth grades. The clinics will be held at 605 Jackson St. from July 24 through Aug. 17.
The clinic schedule is as follows:
- Monday & Wednesday – 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. – Grades 3 & 4 – Coed Clinic
- Monday & Wednesday – 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. – Grades 5 through 8 – Girls Clinic
- Tuesday & Thursday – 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. – Grades 5 & 6 – Coed Clinic
- Tuesday & Thursday – 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. – Grades 7 & 8 – Coed Clinic
Registration will open on July 10 at 12 p.m. at Hoboken.RecDesk.com. Space is limited. Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
City offers residents open pool hours at Hoboken High School
The Hoboken High School indoor pool will be open to residents this July and August through a partnership between the City of Hoboken and the Hoboken Board of Education.
From July 10 through July 27, the pool, located at 800 Clinton St., will be open Monday through Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
From July 31 through August 10, the pool will be open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Participants must first register to utilize the pool at Hoboken.RecDesk.com. Registration will open on Monday, July 3, at 9 a.m.
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult or have a waiver from their parent or legal guardian to use the pool without an adult present.
The pool capacity is capped at 20 swimmers, and access will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. A lifeguard will be on duty during all open hours.
Hoboken's summer foods program for kids returns
Hoboken's summer foods program, which is supported by the New Jersey Department of Agriculture, returns this summer starting on July 10.
Hoboken youth under the age of 18 can enjoy free lunch Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Columbus Park, 7th & Jackson Resiliency Park, and Madison Street Park.
No registration is required. Lunches must be consumed at the park site.
The program is scheduled to end on Aug. 25.
Register for FREE outdoor basketball camp with GRIT
Back by popular demand, the GRIT outdoor summer basketball camp will be held from Wednesday, July 5, through Saturday, July 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Church Square Park.
Hoboken youth between 8 and 14 years old can register to participate.
Registration will open on June 30 at 9 a.m. at Hoboken.RecDesk.com. Space is limited.
