Meridian Man Arrested: Found with Over 160 Grams of Methamphetamine
MERIDIAN- On June 28,2023 at approximately 4:00PM, a Meridian officer initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of W. Franklin Rd. and NW 13th Pl. in Meridian on a black Honda Civic for a traffic violation. The driver, forty-eight (48) year old Jason WRIGHT was unable to produce proof of insurance and had a suspended vehicle registration.
During the traffic stop, a narcotics K9 alerted on the vehicle, indicating an odor of narcotics emitting from the vehicle. A search of the Honda Civic was completed and officers located 160.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a small amount of suspected cocaine, and various paraphernalia generally used in the consumption and distribution of drugs. A search of WRIGHT yielded a significant amount of cash.
WRIGHT was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the following charges: one (1) Felony Count Possession of a Controlled Substance, one (1) Felony Count Drug Trafficking- Methamphetamine or Amphetamine, and one (1) Misdemeanor Count Drug Paraphernalia- Use or Possess with Intent to Use.
