On Saturday, June 24, at approximately 5:15 PM, the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office received a report of a Jet Ski accident on Hogan Dam Reservoir. Deputies responded to the Fiddle Neck boat launch area to provide assistance and initiate an investigation.
Deputies contacted the parties involved in the accident. One of the individuals, 19 year old Medina Geazul of Stockton, required medical attention and was subsequently transported via air ambulance for further treatment at a valley hospital. A second individual involved, 21 year old Leonardo Bonillanatera of Stockton, sustained minor injuries which did not require hospitalization. The circumstances surrounding the Jet Ski accident remain under investigation by the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office.
We remind the public of the importance of adhering to boating safety regulations and guidelines, particularly when operating personal watercraft such as Jet Skis. It is crucial to maintain awareness of the surrounding environment, wear a life jacket, follow speed limits, and exercise caution to ensure the safety of yourself and others on the water.
