Suspect Arrested for Negligent Discharge of Firearm in San Andreas
On Saturday, June 24th about 7:45 pm, the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office arrested a male suspect for negligently discharging a firearm in Turner Park. Deputies, who were in the vicinity at the time, responded upon hearing the gunshots and took the suspect into custody.
Deputies were patrolling the area of Turner Park in San Andreas and overheard the sound of gunshots originating from within the park. Additional reports of gunfire were received through the Sheriff's dispatch center. Deputies responded to the area and located a subject, 20 year old Jonathan Giuffra of Valley Springs, matching the suspect's description. A thorough search and subsequent investigation uncovered that Giuffra was in possession of a .22 caliber handgun. Further investigation revealed that he also possessed prescription medication intended for sale.
Giuffra is facing multiple charges, including negligent discharge of a firearm, possession of a concealed weapon, disorderly conduct, and possession of prescription medication with intent to sell. The investigation is ongoing.
