Calhoun County Weather Update

Overview: Enough warm and moist air will be available through the weekend for heat indices to be in the triple digits. There is also a threat for severe weather today and Saturday.

Impacts For Calhoun County: Introduced slight risk of severe weather Saturday with damaging winds up to 60 mph and quarter size hail.

Highlights:

Excessive heat: 

  • When: Today through Monday (Ongoing Excessive Heat Warning and/or Heat Advisories will likely be extended into the weekend)
  • Threats: Heat exhaustion and heat stroke
  • Cooling Stations: The City of Anniston will be opening cooling stations in view of the expected temperature rise. Additional information can be accessed here https://bit.ly/3PuDuQj.

Severe Weather Today (Friday): 

  • When: 2PM to 11 PM
  • Threats: Damaging winds up to 60 mph and quarter size hail
