Here are a few reminders for this holiday:
-All fireworks, even those marked "safe and sane," are illegal in Berkeley.
-BPD has extra officers on patrol. If you see them out and about, say "hello." Please do not tie up 911 with fireworks-related calls. If you need to report fireworks call the BPD non-emergency number 510-981-5900.
-The City of Berkeley and surrounding cities have numerous road closures, be sure to recheck road closures before traveling. -You may have noticed our BPD flag patch on social media this month. We created this new patch for July, and it's one of a kind. Our Community Services Bureau will hand out these patches at community events in July. Be sure to grab one before they are gone.
