* At 1015 AM CDT, doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated slow-moving, heavy rainfall across the area. Up to 3 inches of rain have fallen with rain rates of up to 2 inches per hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible. HAZARD...Significant flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Rapid-onset, significant flooding of creeks, streams, drainage ditches, low-lying areas, and poor drainage areas. Widespread street and underpass flooding. Possible flooding of structures. Possible flooding of highways.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Chicago, Cicero, Hammond, Oak Lawn, Berwyn, Oak Park, Lemont, Midway Airport, Austin, West Town, Irving Park, Palos Park, Blue Island, La Grange.

Persons along creeks, drainage ditches, and other waterways should take immediate precautions to protect life and property. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
