* At 1230 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Flat Top, or 7 miles northwest of Pipestem, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* Locations impacted include... Princeton... Lewisburg... Hinton... White Sulphur Springs... Ronceverte... Rainelle... and Alderson. This includes The following Location The West Virginia State Fairgrounds.
* AFFECTED AREAS: GREENBRIER, WV ... MERCER, WV ... MONROE, WV ... SUMMERS, WV
Instructions:
Prepare immediately for damaging winds. For your safety, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Stay away from windows. If on or near Bluestone Lake, get away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm. When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of hail of any size, as well as reports of any wind damage, including downed trees or large limbs, to the National Weather Service by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4.
