Flood Advisory until 12:45PM

* WHAT...Minor flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey and southeast New York, including the following counties, in northeast New Jersey, Essex, Hudson and Union. In southeast New York, New York (Manhattan) and Richmond (Staten Island).

* WHEN...Until 1245 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1121 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Newark, Jersey City, Elizabeth, Bayonne, Hoboken, Plainfield, Linden, Secaucus, Harrison, Todt Hill, Midtown Manhattan, Union City, East Village, SoHo, Port Richmond, Kearny, Clark, Union, Tompkinsville and Battery Park. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
