Crescenta Valley Station to Host Disaster Preparedness Event and Sheriff Luna 
Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station will be hosting a disaster preparedness event on July 20, 2023 at La Cañada High School from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The goal of the event is to educate the public on how they can prepare for a large-scale disaster. From 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, we will have displays from all our station teams including Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Montrose Search and Rescue, Volunteers, Disaster Communication Service (DCS), Uniform Reserve Deputies, and Explorer Program. We will also have a mobile command post display from our Department’s Emergency Operations Bureau (EOB).
From 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, we will have the townhall portion of the evening in the performing arts center. Sheriff Robert Luna is scheduled to attend and give opening remarks. We will have speakers from the Montrose Search and Rescue Team who will describe the destruction from the earthquake in Turkey. We will then have our Emergency Operation Bureau speak on how our Department would respond to a large-scale disaster. Finally, we will have our CERT Captain talk about how you as an individual can prepare for a disaster. After a short question and answer session, the evening will conclude.
The event will be free to the public to attend. For those who are unable to attend, we will stream the event on the Department’s social media platforms.
We want to extend our appreciation to La Cañada High School and the La Cañada Unified School District for hosting this event for the public.
