Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 05:00PM

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Ocean County in southern New Jersey... Central Camden County in southern New Jersey... Burlington County in southern New Jersey... Southern Monmouth County in central New Jersey...

* Until 500 PM EDT.

* At 423 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Ramtown to Lakehurst to near Willingboro, moving southeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Wind damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible.

* Locations impacted include... Toms River, Lakewood, Jackson, Evesham, Mount Laurel, Willingboro, Voorhees, Medford, Barnegat, Lindenwold, Lumberton, Beachwood, Burlington, Mount Holly, Berlin, Tabernacle, Shamong, Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach and Presidential Lakes Estates. This includes the following highways... New Jersey Turnpike near exit 5. Interstate 195 in New Jersey between mile markers 21 and 33. Interstate 295 in New Jersey between mile markers 39 and 52. Garden State Parkway between mile markers 68 and 97.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BURLINGTON, NJ ... CAMDEN, NJ ... MONMOUTH, NJ ... OCEAN, NJ

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Wind damage with these storms will occur before any rain or lightning. Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover. SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows. In addition to large hail and damaging winds, frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
