Flash Flood Warning until 12:00AM Wednesday

The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Decatur County in Tennessee... North Central Hardin County in Tennessee... Southeastern Henderson County in Tennessee...

* Until midnight CDT.

* At 901 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Parsons, Decaturville, Sardis, Darden, Reagan, Montgomery, Scotts Hill, Saltillo, Garrett, Wilkinstown, Beacon, Mount Tabor, Largo, Haney, Lick Skillet, Taylors Crossing, Red Walnut, Mount Lebanon, Hickory Forks and Dunbar.

* AFFECTED AREAS: DECATUR, TN ... HARDIN, TN ... HENDERSON, TN

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
