LOCATION: Circle K, 4101 Phelan Road in Phelan
SUSPECT: Benjamin Misenheimer, 32-years old, Resident of Pinon Hills
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at 11:39am, a black Nissan Altima was observed in the parking lot of Circle K in Phelan. The vehicle, driven by Benjamin Misenheimer, was believed to be involved in a residential burglary in Pinon Hills on July 3, 2023.
When deputies attempted to stop the vehicle as it left the parking lot, Misenheimer fled at a high rate of speed, southbound on Sheep Creek Road. Misenheimer committed numerous California vehicle code violations, including failing to stop at controlled intersections and driving on the wrong side of the road. Misenheimer crashed his vehicle into a dirt berm on Sunnyslope Road and exited the vehicle. He immediately became combative with deputies but was eventually taken into custody.
Inside the vehicle, deputies located a loaded gun, ammunition, narcotics, and stolen property from the residential burglary in Pinon Hills. Benjamin Misenheimer, who is on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) was booked at High Desert Detention Center. He is currently being held without bail.
