INCIDENT: PC 69(a) – Obstructing or Resisting an Officer
LOCATION: 12700 Block of Kiowa Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): Andrew Peterson, 31-year-old Male of Apple Valley
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, July 6, 2023, at approximately 8:10 am, deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle parked in the 12700 block of Kiowa Road.
Deputy Dominic Ciani responded to the area and contacted Andrew Peterson who was one of the occupants of the vehicle. Peterson fled on foot while they spoke. Deputy Ciani ran after Peterson and caught him a short distance away. Peterson resisted which caused minor injury to Deputy Ciani.
A records check revealed Peterson was on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and had an outstanding no bail arrest warrant for a PRCS violation. PRCS is a form of supervision provided to an inmate who has been released from a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) institution to the jurisdiction of a county agency, pursuant to the Post Release Community Supervision Act of 2011.
Peterson was transported to High Desert Detention Center where he is being held without bail.
