Intoxicated Driver Involved in Multiple Crashes 
On 7/6/23, Janesville Police responded to a report of a hit and run to an occupied vehicle at the intersection of Delevan Dr and Beloit Av. The suspect vehicle was described as a red Ford F150. It has left the scene north on Delevan Dr and had front-end damage.
Ofc Drew Mussey observed the suspect vehicle traveling east on E Milwaukee St and turning north on Richards Ct. When he turned around to follow the vehicle, he lost sight of it. A short time later, Ofc Michael Rear relocated the vehicle on Pontiac Dr. Ofc Rear initiated a traffic stop at Pontiac Dr and Blackbridge Rd. As he was approaching the vehicle, it fled from the traffic stop.
The Officers pursued the vehicle due to the danger it presented to the community, having already crashed into one vehicle. The truck turned north on Claremont Dr from Randolph Rd. The truck did not navigate the T intersection at Claremont and Lucerne and continued through the intersection, striking an occupied residence. The driver was then taken into custody.
The driver was identified as 56-year-old Chad P Measner. Measner was observed to be intoxicated. He has three previous convictions of Operating While Intoxicated.
The Janesville Fire Department and City of Janesville building inspector responded to ensure the safety of the residence. The Wisconsin State Patrol investigated the second crash.
