Needles Deputies Locate Attempted Murder Suspect in Park

INCIDENT: Warrant Arrest
LOCATION: 100 Jack Smith Park, Needles CA 92363
SUSPECT(S): Russell Spratte, 59-years-old, Resident of Whittier, CA.
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Thursday, July 6, 2023, at approximately 9:00 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to a man down at 100 Jack Smith Park.
Deputies contacted a male identified as Russell Spratte. During the course of the investigation, it was determined Spratte did not need medical aid and was sleeping at the location. Deputies conducted a records check of Spratte and discovered he had an active felony warrant for PC-664/187 - Attempted Murder, out of Norwalk, CA.
Spratte was arrested for the active felony warrant and remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with bail set $2,000,000.
