VICTIM(S): Male Adult, 71-years-old, Resident of Grand Terrace, CA
SUMMARY: On Friday, July 7, 2023, deputies from the Colorado River Station / Marine Enforcement Unit responded to a call for service regarding a boater in distress near Castle Rock, on the Colorado River.
Upon arrival, deputies located an unresponsive male victim on a boat on the California shoreline. According to interviews, the victim was swimming in the water and struggled in the current. Deputies and San Bernardino County Fire personnel performed CPR during transportation to Windsor launch ramp in Lake Havasu, Az. The victim was later transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
